The Brick and the Dog

There was once a successful builder who had a gimmick: he would guess exactly how many bricks it took to build a house. One day, he built a house for an old woman and guessed it would take 23,423 bricks. When he finished, he had exactly one brick left over. Frustrated, he threw the brick high into the air.

Later, a man and a woman were arguing on a plane. The woman threatened to throw the man's dog out the window, and the man threatened to throw her cigarettes out. Neither budged, so she threw the dog out, and he threw the cigarettes out. When the plane landed, they saw the dog sitting safely on the wing. And guess what was in its mouth? The brick!
