The Worst Sin

Three men die and are waiting to get into Heaven.

St. Peter is standing at the Pearly Gates with a checklist. He asks the first man, "What's the worst thing you did during your life?" The man answers, "Well, once I cheated on my wife." "Uh-huh, and when was that?" Peter asks, penciling it in on his clipboard. "Oh, about 20 years ago," the man says. Peter writes that down, looks at him, and says, "Okay, you can pass." The man walks through the gates into Heaven. St. Peter asks the second man the same question. "Well, I lied to my wife once; I told her I liked her cooking." "And when did you last do that?" "Maybe 10 years ago." Peter checks that off and says, "Okay, you can pass." The second man walks through the gates. Finally, St. Peter asks the last man, "What's the worst thing you've done in your life?" The guy thinks and says, "Well, I can't think of anything. I haven't cheated or lied to my wife. I've been good." Peter levels a gaze at him and says, "Sir, no one but our Savior is perfect. Surely you've done something you're ashamed of?" The guy thinks for a while and says, "Okay, well, there was this one time I peed all over a policeman's boots." Peter smiles. "Okay, we're making progress," he marks his list. "And how long ago did you do that?" The guy pauses again and replies, "About five minutes ago."
